DISPLAY 6: NEW This is a selection of rough clay masks I’ve been making daily as a way to ‘inform’ my writing. My routine is to work in the studio with the clay in a way that allows the character to emerge on its own. I am not interested in making them perfect – simply to let the essence or core of the piece come through and be clear. Then I take the new ‘being’ into my writing corner and we spend a few hours together. The process is fun, sometimes I am surprised and sometimes I am truly amazed! Some of them are so talkative, I can hardly keep up . . . |
