GRADES 4, 5 AND 6, FOIL MASKS.
A selection of Foil Masks recently
created by Grades 4, 5 & 6 Students.
One of the biggest challenges working with schools,
is time and funds!
This Ontario Public School had little of either! However I had conducted
a most
successful mask workshop last year and they wanted to do it again, so
I was
grateful.
After a brief introduction to mask use from around the world,
we worked with
heavy-duty foil. I took along Styrofoam 'wig stands' for everyone to
work off.
I demonstrated how to begin, we talked about the characteristics of
foil, how it
could behave, and then they went to it.
The finished pieces were magnificent. Many of the students stretched
the
medium to the limits, experimenting with structure and form. They
were
delighted with the results - as was I!
