The
expressive arts are tools to take you on creative adventures with the
power to transform.
We can all experience these adventures whether or not we believe we are creative or artistic because there is no emphasis on the end product. I will guide you through a variety of expressive arts experiences as you listen to your creative process and gain insight from what you hear. Within the framework of our intent, you may use paint, pencils, clay, fibre and natural materials - or you may use your body to tell the story… No previous art experience is necessary.. |

EAA 2. -
Your Walking-Talking Stick™. |
|||||||||
|
A
symbol of support, and the belief you have something to say and are
worthy to be heard. The Talking Stick is an old Native American tradition.
Anyone who holds the stick may speak, everyone else is silent. You will
bring a found stick and make it your own using a variety of materials
- for example, feathers, found objects, paint, bells, sculpting materials,
fibre, fabrics, and ribbons -
we will listen to it's story using words, movement, or sounds. |

Route of the Puppetry™. |

|
In
the swirl of daily life when we feel our strings are being pulled this
way and that, it's good to know we can detour and take refuge under
Puppet Tree™. In this light-hearted workshop your imagination can
soar as you create a simple rod puppet and tell its story..

Mystical Masks™. |
|||||||||
|
The
ancient and powerful traditions of Masking and Storytelling will be
used as tools to discover facets of yourself in a safe and supportive
environment. The very act of masking is transformational. Masks can
conceal and protect, as well as reveal and enlighten. We will create
our masks, off a provided lightweight base, with fabric, fibre, paint
and found materials using a variety of your chosen techniques. We will
listen to their stories and explore the wisdom they share.
